On-track machine gauging check for sufficient clearance between moving vehicles and infrastructure to help prevent collisions and contribute to safe operation on GB’s mainline railways. The ‘go anywhere’ nature of these vehicles and features of the network can result in a complex, time-consuming compatibility process.
