Scope

The SRF:

  • brings together professionals from across rail industry, and beyond, to explore sustainability challenges, assess solutions, and propose change.
  • promotes the industry as a key stakeholder within the government’s plan to improve sustainability.
  • increases understanding and awareness of sustainability within rail, steered by the 11 topics in the Sustainable Rail Blueprint
  • promotes, develops, and embeds lessons learned and best practice from rail and other areas, such as consultancy and supply chain.
  • coordinates an annual workshop/webinar on new or pending sustainability legislation and policy. The focus is on industry impact and implementation. 
  • identifies topics of interest and organises continued professional development opportunities for group members and other rail professionals.

  • Specialist guest representatives, depending on meeting topics
  • Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment Rail Delivery Group.
