GKRT0044 Iss 3
Permissive Working
Synopsis
This document defines the requirements associated with signalling a second train onto a section of railway line which is already occupied by a train.
The change in issue three replaces the requirements for the approaching train to be at a stand, or nearly at a stand before the calling-on movement authority is displayed. The new requirements enable operational efficiencies to be achieved by allowing the calling-on movement authority to be displayed when the approaching train is within 100 m of the signal and the speed of the train is consistent with the driver transitioning to the permissive movement.
Summary Of Changes
With effect from 03/03/2018, parts of this document have been superseded by RIS-0703-CCS Iss 1 and RIS-0713-CCS Iss 1. As the document is currently the subject of other standards' projects, it will remain an extant document until the relevant requirements are addressed in a new RIS.
