This document sets out requirements and guidance for the classification of rail vehicles to the lettered differential permissible speed categories.

Document revised to incorporate requirements for rolling stock to be classified as MU or HST and permissible to make use of lettered differential speeds identified by 'MU' and by 'HST'.
