RED 37a Revisiting the Platform-Train Interface

RED 37 re-visits the platform-train interface and opens with a fictitious incident which illustrates the importance of following the new rules relating to train dispatch.

Incidents at the platform-train interface (PTI) are still the biggest cause of passenger deaths on the railway.

We learn what the key changes are and how they will affect anyone responsible for train-dispatch and we hear first-hand what it's like in reality to deal with a PTI incident. We also hear about how Network Rail plans to make travelling safer in the future.

In part two, we are reminded about the service that CIRAS offer, what's in Right Track magazine and what's new on Opsweb.
