Introduction
The rail industry continues to work towards improving management of health and safety risks with great care. Over recent years, many advances have been made through scientific research, legislative changes and evolving recognition of occupational health hazards.
However, we recognise that more can be done in areas such as vibration, noise, dusts, welding and emissions. To protect the long-term health of employees, the industry is working hard to understand its health hazards and develop better management techniques in these areas.
